Therese Bueno
Therese Bueno – Vocals, Guitar
At the age of 5, Therese’s mother signed her up for piano lessons, which she took albeit grudgingly. “One day you’ll thank me for this,” her mother assured her, “One day.” Therese scoffed at this in the beginning, but as time went on, her love of music blossomed. In fact, years later, Therese would be thanking her mom profusely. Pretty soon she was joining her school band on trumpet, singing soprano in her school’s choir and, later, taking up the guitar. But Therese’s love of music was fulfilled in Sugar Rush. She joined Sugar Rush at whim on the summer of 2011 to pass the time, but was blown away by the talent and warmth that the girls welcomed her with. However, music is not the only focus of Therese’s life. Aside from playing piano and guitar, writing songs, and occasionally fiddling with her harmonica, Therese enjoys reading, dancing in her room, and watching movies.

Jane Folliard
Jane Folliard – Vocals, Keyboard
When Jane Folliard learned that her friend Jamie’s band was playing at Sam Maguire’s, she went to provide support and see for herself what all the fuss was about. She left that show feeling electrified and knew that she too wanted to be in a band. Soon after, Jane got her chance, she received an invite to join Sugar Rush on keyboard and vocals. Jane likes being able to use Sugar Rush as a creative outlet and loves the musicality of all the girls in it. Her favorite parts of being in Sugar Rush are having multiple singers, being able to create cool harmonies, and writing songs with her bandmates.

Payton Orozco
Payton Orozco – Drums, Percussion
Payton is one of the original band members.
Since Payton was little she always had a connection with music. She would always hear her mom and dad, who are professional musicians, practicing with their band. When she was two years old, she saw some bright red drums that her parents played, started playing them and really liked them a lot! When Payton turned 6 years old, she received a drum set and played for hours and really started getting into it. She started playing at church with a youth band (called Christ Kids Band), about every other week in front of her church congregation. She studies drums and percussion at The House of Music in Orland Hills, Illinois since 2009, where Sugar Rush was originated. Her influences are Michael Jackson (Jackson 5), Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Bieber. Her favorite type of music is Pop, R&B, Old school, although she likes every type of music. She also plays bass, guitar, and is quickly becoming a wonderful vocalist & loves to roller blade, and play a variety of sports.

Jamie Rago
Jamie Rago – Vocals, Guitar
As one of the original band members, it is a miracle that Jamie is able to sing and play music at all. She was born with a neurosensory hearing loss in both ears which left her profoundly deaf in one ear and moderately deaf in the other. Luckily, with bilateral hearing aids that have state of the art technology, she is able to sing and play the guitar and her hearing loss is undetectable. Jamie knew she was interested in music at the young age of 7 when she asked for a guitar for Christmas. A couple of years later she won tickets to a Hannah Montana concert that would change her life. After seeing her and the Jonas Brothers play live music, it captivated her and shortly after, she began to take acoustic guitar lessons. Her early influences were the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift and she would play in her room for hours trying to copy their style of music. Today, her influences have matured and lay more heavily on artists such as Demi Lovato, Adele and Paramore. Besides writing, singing and performing, Jamie also plays the drums and is active in her school marching band playing the trumpet. She also enjoys many sports and has played soccer for her local soccer team.
